OK let's face it who doesn't love ice cream. Well maybe if your lactose intolerant. Anyway there is always good ice cream and bad ice cream. On this occasion this is awesome ice cream. With a mad selection of weird and wonderful flavours the south side is blessed with the presence of this retailer.
OK now I know it might sound a little weird going out for a tub of ice cream on a cold winter night. But really it is that good so the temperature doesn't matter.
Get on down here and give it a go. Then come back to try other flavours. -

If I had to choose one place in the whole of Glasgow to get ice cream it would have to be Valentini's. A family run business that makes their own ice cream on the premises, they offer a large selection of different flavours including Ferrero Rocher, honeycomb, Irn Bru, raspberry ripple and chocolate as well as lots of other wonderful flavours. They also have the best mint chocolate chip ice cream I've ever eaten. You get a decent amount of ice cream for what you pay with different sizes of tubs available as well as cones.
My only complaint is the rum and raisin isn't available very often and even when it is its usually not out on display.
In the summer and rare days of nice weather it can get quite busy and cramped as its only a small store but its worth a short wait and I've been known to visit in the wind and rain because when its this good, any weather is ice cream weather. -

This is a cracking wee ice cream shop, its all made on the premises and tastes delicious. The white choc ice cream is a tiny bit sickly and the lemon is on the sweeter side, personal taste I just prefer mine tart. The Jaffa cake ice cream is the bomb!! It tastes exactly like Jaffa cakes, you get a decent portion for a decent price and the cones are tasty. If you get a wee tub to take home you get loads for you £1.50. The only reason they get a 4 instead of a 5 is because the staff can be a bit abrupt. They have a massive selection of ice cream and you should def pop in. They also do have bins close by now, I'm a local resident and I don't see ice cream tubs everywhere.

My only quibble is with the name - it's not a parlour. There's nowhere to sit. But, all the rest is perfection. I came from the state in the US that consumes the highest amount of ice cream per capita in the country. Even though it's freezing cold four months of the year (at least), we still love our ice cream, and we make the best. So I am very particular. Valentini's lives up to my high standards by keeping it simple. The base ice cream has the right balance of creaminess to sweetness, and the proper creamy consistency. I don't know if it's an old Italian family recipe or if this family just has a good sense of taste, but the ice cream is delicious. It's a wee takeaway joint with some other sweeties on offer but mostly it's just the ice cream, front and center, with a good variety of cones to choose from (or a cup, if that's your thing). Not only that, but it's extremely inexepensive! Good value, my Scottish friends, and a good treat.

Oh wow. I just love Valentini's ice-cream! A family run business with a friendly atmosphere and a traditional feel to it.
They have a huge selection of ice-cream which are all homemade, Irn-Bru, Smartie, tutti-frutti, rainbow, honeycomb, they just have every kind you could imagine each one more delicious than the last. I love coming here in the summer, after a little stroll through nearby Rouken Glen Park I'll pop along Fenwick Road to have a look at the shops... and of course, get a Valentini's ice!
They also have a huge selection of sweets, chocolates and cans chilling in the fridge.
